Newcastle University

Registration

From the start of August onwards, the Student Progress Office (a central University service) will send you an email, as soon as you have accepted an unconditional offer, giving you your username and password to access your university email account.

When you log in to your university email account, you should look for the email from ‘IT Service Desk’ which gives you instructions on how to use the student registration portal (S3P) to register. This email also gives you a separate password that you will need to access S3P. MORE DETAILED INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE Induction page

University English Language Assessment

If you are an international student from a non-English speaking country, you are required to take the University English Language Assessment (UELA), or receive an exemption from it, as soon as possible after arriving in Newcastle. This is a mandatory part of the University registration procedure which is administered by INTO Newcastle University. It does not prevent you from registering but will remain as a hold on your record until completed.

Further details on the UELA, including the criteria for exemptions are available on the In-Sessional English web-site.

If you have not sat the assessment or organised an exemption within the first few weeks, your smartcard (student ID card) and email account will be suspended. Whilst your access would be reinstated as soon as you had done the above, we highly recommend that you do sort this out at the start of the year.
